Masimo Personal Health App Reviews

Good review

As an avid hiker/healthnut, Ive been using this app for the last couple of months and found it helpful and useful. With the new updated, Ive found several pros as well as some cons. PROS: -its faster than the old version -redesigned look (definitely looks better than before) -continued recording of my O2 levels even while my phone is on sleep mode (less drain on my battery life!) CONS: -the recording of my O2 levels will stop if my finger leaves the oximeter and I wont be notified that its no longer recording -past recordings of my O2 levels are clumped together instead of being able to see them individually Overall, its a good update that allows me to continuously record and monitor my O2 levels without overusing my batterys life.

Good update but it can be better

This update looks way much better than the previous one. The history graph is useless. I have to scroll hundred of times to find a past record. Why not saving the history graph individually?

Great display, but missing email option

Excellent display of O2 levels, pulse rate and pleth wave form. Would be very useful to have info on the meaning of the various wave form shapes, since they reflect cardiac action. Presumably this lack reflects the warning that this app is not for medical use, which would involve legal liability considerations. This is unfortunate, since this is medical data like it or not. Also, the app does not provide for emailing the data, though the iPSO2 manual states that this can be done on the Options page. There is an error message if you click on Email History that Mail has not been configured. If this refers to the iPad Mail app, theres no provision that I can find to configure it other than for regular email use, which I use all the time. Some clarification would be helpful here.

Needs separate sensor

Didnt get to use because needs separate sensor and I didnt see where it stated that in the description

Works perfect

Works perfectly and compares identical to my battery powered fingertip oximeters purchased from a drug store. Required a lightning to 30 pin connector to work with my 6 Plus but with the connector was no problem.

Well designed iOS App

First off I will say the User Experience with this application’s feature set is very good. The User Interface is modern, clean and functions well. I have some enhancement requests: 1) The historical records don’t indicate date/time. Duration is nice, but the record start time is more important to me. 2) I would like to have the ability to delete a record.

Great!

I have a MightySat and the Bluetooth connection is super reliable. I would totally recommend it.

Needs more useful output

At first I was really impressed by the results I was able to see on my iPhone. However, I quickly realized the data is less useful if you cant tell in your history what time the data was collected (ie nighttime with sleep apnea issues). Second, you cant delete historical data (which is necessary when cross-testing a family member). Third, you cant see historical pleth waves which would be super helpful to show a cardiologist when theres an arrhythmia. Fourth, when emailing your data, you have to export the entire history which looks like every single second of data! If youve never cleared your history, the exported file is so horrendously huge its just unusable. This app could be so much more useful with these enhancements.
