Great display, but missing email option

Excellent display of O2 levels, pulse rate and pleth wave form. Would be very useful to have info on the meaning of the various wave form shapes, since they reflect cardiac action. Presumably this lack reflects the warning that this app is not for medical use, which would involve legal liability considerations. This is unfortunate, since this is medical data like it or not.
Also, the app does not provide for emailing the data, though the iPSO2 manual states that this can be done on the Options page. There is an error message if you click on Email History that Mail has not been configured. If this refers to the iPad Mail app, theres no provision that I can find to configure it other than for regular email use, which I use all the time. Some clarification would be helpful here.
